What does “cojonudo” mean in Spain?

Cojonudo is peak Spain-from-Spain slang for “fantastic,” “brilliant,” “top-notch.” It’s built on cojón (a vulgar word for “testicle”) plus the augmentative -udo, so while it’s wildly common in casual Peninsular speech, it is genuinely coarse — not one for a job interview. Hearing va cojonudamente bien (“it’s going bloody brilliantly”) in the adverb form is a dead giveaway you’re listening to Spanish from Spain.

The cojones word-family is a whole register of Peninsular emphasis: tener cojones (to have guts), me importa un cojón (I couldn’t care less), de cojones (as an intensifier).
