What is Channel 3 in Thai TV?

ช่อง 3 (Chong Saam, “Channel 3”) is one of Thailand’s main free-to-air networks, owned by BEC-Thai Television and the long-time home of lakorn (Thai prime-time drama). Thai TV broadcasting also uses the 24-hour clock in spoken promo copy, so a primetime show airs at ยี่สิบนาฬิกา 30 นาที (“twenty o’clock, thirty minutes”). Most everyday Thai conversation uses the older 6-hour clock, but TV announcements and government schedules stick with the 24-hour form.
