Pequenas vitórias que deixam o dia muito melhor

What does “de primeira” mean in Portuguese?
In Brazil, acertar de primeira means to get something right on the very first try — no second attempt needed. The little phrase de primeira does all the work: it’s short for de primeira vez (“on the first go”). The same two words carry a second everyday sense — first-rate, top quality — so a steak that’s de primeira is the best cut in the shop. One tidy phrase, two small wins.
The idiom drops the noun and lets primeira (“first”) stand alone. In the “first try” sense it’s short for de primeira vez/tentativa: Estacionei de primeira (“I parked it on the first try”), Acertou de primeira (“Nailed it first time”). In the “top quality” sense it’s short for de primeira qualidade/ordem: carne de primeira (“prime beef”), um serviço de primeira (“first-rate work”). Both come from Latin primarius/primus (“first, foremost”), and both are casual, high-frequency Brazilian speech. In the clip it’s one of life’s pequenas vitórias — plugging the charger into the socket de primeira.
