显眼包 (xiǎnyǎnbāo) is Chinese internet slang for someone who constantly draws attention to themselves — the office goofball, the person making faces during a serious meeting, the friend who cannot blend in. 显眼 (xiǎnyǎn) means “eye-catching” or “conspicuous,” and 包 is a colloquial suffix meaning “a type of person.” The title gives the punchline upfront: during a meeting, do not look at the 显眼包 colleague unless you want to burst out laughing.

The term evolved from the older Sichuan and Henan dialect insult 现眼包 (xiànyǎnbāo, “embarrassing spectacle”), but online culture stripped away most of the shame.
