What does “fuŝi” mean in Esperanto?

Wrapping a Christmas present on camera, this creator narrates her own failure in real time: “Mi tute fuŝis la tutan aferon” — “I totally botched the whole thing.” Fuŝi means to do something badly or clumsily, and it’s a favorite self-deprecating verb across casual Esperanto — used about wrapping paper here, but just as at home describing a bad haircut or a flubbed sentence.

The adjective fuŝa (“botched, sloppy”) and the noun fuŝulo (“a bungler”) follow the same root, and none of them carry much real sting — this creator uses fuŝi about her own gift-wrapping three separate times in one clip, entirely lightheartedly, the way an English speaker might say “I totally butchered that.”
