What do “el tuyo” and “la tuya” mean in Spanish?

When you say “yours” in Spanish, the word changes to match the thing, not you. After mi color favorito (“my favorite color”), you answer ¿y el tuyo? (“and yours?”). After mi bebida favorita (“my favorite drink”), it becomes ¿y la tuya? So el tuyo is for a masculine word and la tuya for a feminine one — same “yours,” two shapes.

This is a fast way to bounce a question back without repeating the noun. The clip uses both: Mi color favorito es el rojo. ¿Y el tuyo? and Mi bebida favorita es el chocolate. ¿Y la tuya? The plural forms work the same way: los tuyos, las tuyas.
