What does “jelly” mean in British English?

In British English, jelly is a sweet dessert. It is soft and it wobbles when you move it. It comes in fun colors, like red and green. Kids love it at parties. But be careful. In American English, jelly means something very different. There, jelly is a sweet fruit spread for bread. The wobbly dessert is called Jell-O in America. So the same word means two different foods.
