What does “irse a la cama” mean in Spanish?

A doctor is giving advice about dinner timing, and he keeps lining it up with bedtime: “Si usted se va a la cama a las 9...” — “If you go to bed at 9...” Notice he says irse a la cama, not just “to sleep.” It means the moment you head off and lie down for the night — a common, everyday phrase for your nightly routine.
